Nicola Lusardi was born in Piacenza on November 25th, 1990 and received BSc and MSc with honors in Electronic Engineering and PhD in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano. His research activity is focused on digital architectures on configurable devices and in particular of systems at the state-of-the-art for time measurement. He is associated to the Italian National Nuclear Physics Institute (INFN), member of the Nuclear and Plasma Science Society (NPSS) of the IEEE, and responsible for FPGA based electronics in the DSSC experiment at European XFEL.

In 2020 he win the IEEE NPSS Glenn F. Knoll Postdoctoral Education Grant.

Referee for several international journals, he is author of more than 70 scientific international papers. Moreover, he participate as electronic engineer in some experiment in collaboration with the Technology University of Delft (TU Delft, Netherland), the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) and the Elettra Group of Synchrotron of Trieste (Basovizza, TS).

In 2019 is co-founder of TEDIEL srl, an Innovative Start-up and Spin-Off of the Politecnico di Milano thai is based on an innovative Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) architecture entirely developed in FPGA and SoC devices of the latest generation, and placed in the high-tech segment of applications of Smart Mobility, Industry 4.0, Health, Environment.

He has been managing several R&D projects of product innovation through digital electronics in cooperation with private and public companies (e.g. RFI, Cordon Electronics Italia, CAEN).
