Marco Compagnoni was born in Tirano (Italy) in 1980. He graduated in Physics cum laude from Università di Milano Bicocca (Italy), in 2004. In 2009 he completed his Ph.D. in Mathematical Engineering at the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Milano. Starting from 2005, he taught several courses as teaching assistant, in Mathematical Analysis, Algebra, Geometry, Discrete Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. From 2012, he is Adjunct Professor of Linear Algebra and Geometry at Politecnico di Milano. His reaserch focuses on Mathematical Physics, Algebraic Geometry and Applied Mathematics. Currently, he is working on the development of new mathematical methodologies for the processing of audio and video signals, in collaboration with the Image and Signal Processing Group of the Politecnico di Milano and as a scientific consultant for several italian firms. He has led the activity of several M.Sc. students in Mathematical Engineering and he has co-authored 13 peer-reviewed international publications in pure and applied Mathematics and in Signal Processing.
