
BeNEdiCTE: An Innovative System for BNCT Wins Innovation for…
A team composed of Filippo Ghisio, Maurizio Pandocchi, Tommaso Ferri, and Anita Caracciolo won the European final of the Innovation for Nuclear 2025 competition, held in Zagreb during the European Nuclear Young Generation Forum.
After winning the national phase, the team – composed of PhD students from the RadLab of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano – represented Italy in the European final, presenting an innovative system based on the BeNEdiCTE detector for real-time monitoring of the dose delivered during Boron Neutron Capture Therapy, an advanced cancer treatment technique.
The project was selected as the winner among participants from 11 different European countries, receiving praise from the jury for its originality and potential impact in the field of nuclear medicine.
