Bachelor Admission

Bachelor Admission

Admission requirements

A High school diploma, or comparable foreign degree, is mandatory. Indeed, according to the D.M. 270/04 art.6, the admission to any first-level Degree programme is subject to the possession of a five-year or four-year upper Secondary School Diploma or other qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable.

To be admitted to the Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica (equivalent to the Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, B.S.E.E.), you must take an entry test (Test On-Line, TOL), common to all Engineering Bachelor’s Degree programmes at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), aimed at ascertaining the aptitude and preparation for studies. For more information, see www.poliorientami.polimi.it.

Note that all courses and teachings of any Laurea’s Degree (B.S.) are taught in Italian.

Students already enrolled in other undergraduate programmes (e.g., other Laurea or B.S. courses) or in other Universities, who intend to transfer to the Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica (B.S.E.E.) at POLIMI, may request an evaluation for the recognition of the credits already acquired.

Knowledge required for incoming students

The TOL entrance test verifies the possession of an adequate basic preparation in mathematics, sciences and verbal comprehension. Knowledge of English is also required and is verified through standard certificates equal to or higher than level B1 of the CEF – Common European Framework. If the such a verification is not positive, specific additional training obligations (Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi, OFA) are given to the student, who has to fulfill them before being allowed to access courses offered at the second and third year of the Laurea.

Details on these procedures (e.g., about the time-tables of TOL sessions) are defined every year by the Academic Senate of POLIMI.
